Russians used a new weapon against energy infrastructure: emergency power outages introduced in Kyiv

Emergency power outages were introduced in Kyiv on September 30. After new explosions, water supply also disappeared in some districts of the capital.

The company noted that the outage was implemented at the command of Ukrenergo. During emergency outages, normal schedules do not apply.

“Kyiv: emergency shutdowns have been applied at the command of Ukrenergo. We remind you that during emergency shutdowns, schedules do not apply,” the message says.

Following the explosions, power and water supply disruptions were also recorded in some areas of the capital. It is currently unknown how many homes were left without power and how long it will take for the supply to be fully restored.

Radio technology specialist Sergei Beskrestnov, known as Flash, reported that on September 30, Russia first used a cumulative-cutting special load on a jet UAV.

According to him, such a warhead is designed to destroy high-voltage poles and metal bridge structures . It consists of a main warhead weighing about 40 kg and four additional destruction modules.

Flash suggested that Russia may be preparing to strike important high-voltage power lines.
