Elon Musk’s net worth could surpass $1.1 trillion after SpaceX’s record-breaking IPO. If these estimates are confirmed, the businessman would become the first person in history to reach the $1 trillion mark.
Reuters reports this.
According to the agency, SpaceX raised about $75 billion in its initial public offering, making it one of the largest IPOs in history and significantly increasing the company’s value.
Before SpaceX went public, Musk’s fortune was estimated at around $780 billion. After the IPO, his stake in the company could be worth around $866 billion.
Together with other assets, including a stake in Tesla, the entrepreneur’s total capital could exceed $1.1 trillion.
“The second richest person in the world is worth about $300 billion, which is less than a third of what Musk could potentially be worth,” said Forbes Wealth Deputy Editor Matt Duro.
Thus, Elon Musk could set a new financial record and become the world’s first dollar trillionaire.
