Emergency power outages have been introduced in many regions of Ukraine due to Russian missile and drone strikes.

This was reported by the press service of Ukrenergo.

The company explained that the enemy hit generation facilities and electricity transmission and distribution networks, so power outages in some regions are “quite severe.”

Currently, the most difficult situation is observed in the capital, Kyiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, and Poltava regions. These regions have the longest duration of unscheduled power outages.

“Specialists from Ukrenergo and other companies are doing everything possible to restore power to all subscribers or at least significantly reduce the time of outages in each of the regions of Ukraine. But for this, the power system needs help,” the press service noted.

Ukrenergo urged consumers to limit the use of powerful electrical appliances, turn off “unnecessary” lights, not charge or turn on powerful equipment and batteries immediately after the power appears, and also to postpone energy-intensive processes to night hours.

As a reminder, the IAEA stated that the Chernobyl NPP lost all external power supply as a result of the Russian night attack on Ukraine.
