On Wednesday, October 16, by order of NEC Ukrenergo, emergency shutdown schedules were introduced in the northern districts of the Khmelnytskyi region (GAO).
This was reported by Khmelnitskoblenergo.
Power engineers note that it is impossible to provide advance warning of emergency shutdowns, as they are used solely to prevent large-scale accidents and stabilize the power system.
The restrictions were introduced due to the consequences of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.
You can find out the estimated time of power restoration through the company’s chatbots on Viber and Telegram, as well as in the “Outage by Address” and “Current Outages” sections.
At the same time, there are no reports of power outages in the Lviv region yet.
In addition to the Khmelnytskyi region, emergency power outage schedules are also in effect in the Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, and part of the Cherkasy regions due to damage to power facilities following Russian shelling.
It was previously reported that over half of Ukrenergo’s energy facilities have been equipped with engineered protection to counter drone attacks . Completion of the second phase of shelters is scheduled for the first half of 2026.
Incidentally, on October 15, as a result of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure , residents of almost all regions of Ukraine were left without power.
