Emergency power outages have been introduced in the Sumy region.

On Friday, October 18, emergency power outage schedules were introduced in the Sumy region. They are currently in effect for customers in the first and second stages of service.

This was reported by Sumyoblenergo.

“Following instructions from NEC Ukrenergo, emergency outage schedules have been implemented in the Sumy region. Currently, emergency outage schedules are in effect for customers in the first and second stages,” the company noted.

As energy specialists explained, emergency shutdowns are used when it is necessary to urgently reduce grid power consumption. In such cases, the duration of the outage is impossible to predict.

All restrictions remain in effect until specifically cancelled by the Ukrenergo NEC team.

Sumyoblenergo emphasized that the sole reason for such restrictions is the consequences of Russian aggression—damage to energy facilities due to shelling.
