Emergency power outages introduced in Kyiv and the region

Emergency power outages are in effect in Kyiv and Kyiv region due to a significant electricity shortage.

This was announced by First Deputy Minister of Energy Artem Nekrasov during a briefing .

“The situation in Kyiv and Kyiv region remains tense, the electricity deficit is still significant. As soon as the operation of the power system stabilizes, we will immediately return to the projected hourly schedules,” he howled.

In addition, the situation remains most difficult in frontline and border regions, where the restoration of electricity supply is complicated by constant hostilities.

Nekrasov emphasized that the main reason for the forced outages is the consequences of night-time shelling of Ukrainian power plants and substations of the electricity transmission and distribution system.
