Emergency power outages introduced in Ukraine: which regions will be affected?
Emergency power outages were imposed in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Poltava, and Sumy regions on Monday, October 13, due to the consequences of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.
This is reported by DTEK .
Energy experts noted that emergency shutdowns were introduced at the direction of NPC Ukrenergo to stabilize the power system after damage.
“The electricity distribution service will be restored after the emergency situation is eliminated and the relevant commands are received from NPC Ukrenergo,” the company said in a statement.
According to the regional energy authorities, emergency schedules are already in effect in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. They were introduced in Poltava region from 8:45, and in Kirovohrad region from 8:48. In Sumy region, the shutdown was applied to four consumer queues.
Experts emphasize that emergency outage schedules are used only in cases where it is necessary to urgently reduce the load on the power system. The duration of the outage is currently impossible to predict, as the situation remains emergency.
