Emergency power outages to be introduced in Kyiv: what is known
Emergency power outages have been imposed in Kyiv and several regions of Ukraine following a massive Russian missile and drone attack. The restrictions will be in effect until the airstrike is over and the power system is stabilized.
This was announced by YASNO General Director Serhiy Kovalenko.
Kovalenko spoke about the introduction of emergency power outages in the capital and urged citizens to follow safety measures.
“Kyiv is in an emergency. Stay safe,” said Serhiy Kovalenko.
Ukrenergo confirmed that emergency shutdowns were applied in several regions of Ukraine as a result of a massive attack. They noted that the restrictions are temporary.
“As a result of a massive missile and drone attack, emergency power outages have been implemented in several regions of Ukraine,” Ukrenergo reported.
The company also clarified that the restrictions will be lifted after the air alert is over and the situation in the power system stabilizes.
DTEK reported that emergency outages were introduced by order of NPC Ukrenergo, and during this period, outage schedules are not in effect.
“Outage schedules are not in effect. Please use electricity wisely, if you currently have it, to help stabilize the system,” DTEK said.
