Emergency situation in the energy sector: the Ministry of Internal Affairs gave recommendations to the population

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has urged citizens to take care of basic preparedness amid the energy emergency and possible power and heat supply disruptions.

This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

The department recommends stocking up on drinking and technical water, long-term storage products, and necessary medications in advance for at least three to five days.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs advises paying special attention to preparing a suitcase of first-aid supplies. It should contain documents, warm clothes, a first-aid kit, heating supplies, personal hygiene items, and a supply of cash.

Citizens are also asked to check the charge level of additional power sources, the technical condition of vehicles, and the availability of fuel. The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasizes that pet owners should ensure a supply of food for their pets.

In addition, the department urged people to be prepared for increased security measures, follow official government announcements, take care of the safety of children, and limit being outside after dark unless absolutely necessary.

During heat and electricity outages, the Ministry of Internal Affairs advises following basic rules for heating your home. In particular, do not try to heat the entire apartment, stay in one, preferably the smallest room, dress in several layers, and maintain light physical activity.
