Since the end of January, the so-called energy truce has been actively discussed in the information space, but its conditions look extremely unequal for Ukraine.

Military-political observer of the “Information Resistance” group, Oleksandr Kovalenko, noted on the air of “Pryamoy” that while energy facilities do not officially become targets, the aggressor continues to terrorize Ukrainian cities with drones every night and strike at the railway infrastructure.

“Since January 28, for some reason, we have not heard about our long-range strikes on the territory of the Russian Federation. That is, if before, almost every night we saw the corresponding reports… then there is a problem that since January 28, I have not seen a single long-range strike on the territory of the Russian Federation,” the columnist explains.

Kovalenko stressed that this situation raises many questions about the real essence of the agreements. While the Ukrainian side is probably refraining from attacks on Russian oil refineries and enterprises of the military-industrial complex, the enemy has only redirected fire at other civilian objects.

The lack of parity in this agreement calls into question its benefits, as Ukrainians continue to die under the blows of kamikaze drones, – noted Oleksandr Kovalenko.

As a reminder, on January 29, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed an agreement on an “energy truce” with Russia for the period of winter cold. According to him, the agreements should come into effect as soon as next night, but their actual implementation will be determined by the situation on the ground.

Instead, the very next day, the head of state stated that the US initiative for an energy truce between Ukraine and Russia was only at the discussion stage, and Kyiv did not have any direct agreements with Moscow on a ceasefire.

Meanwhile, Russian President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that US President Donald Trump asked Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin to refrain from strikes on Kyiv until February 1, and he allegedly agreed .
