In New York, law enforcement officers stopped Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, forcing him to wait until the motorcade of American leader Donald Trump passed by.

This was reported by the Turkish service of Deutsche Welle.

Erdogan, who came to the United States for the UN General Assembly, was stopped on the sidewalk as he tried to cross the road.

The police blocked his path because of Trump’s motorcade, which was passing by, and forced the Turkish president to wait a while.

As a result, a clash broke out between Erdogan’s guards, who were trying to remove the iron fence, and American law enforcement officers, which quickly ended.

Later, after Trump passed, traffic resumed.
