Counterintelligence and investigators of the Security Service exposed and detained in Kyiv a former military instructor from Great Britain, who turned out to be an FSB agent.
This was reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Security Service of Ukraine .
The investigation found that the man arrived in Ukraine in January 2024. He conducted training classes for military personnel in Mykolaiv, and later worked in one of the border detachments.
In September, the person in question stopped teaching and moved to Odessa. There, he established contacts with Russian intelligence services and agreed to transfer military data for money.
According to the UCP, in the spring of 2025, the Briton transmitted coordinates of the locations of Ukrainian units, photographs of the territory of the training facility, and data on servicemen with the possibility of their identification. There is also confirmation of the transmission of other information.
In addition, he negotiated the possibility of using explosive devices and tried to establish access to the command of military units.
In particular, for one of the completed tasks, the Russian agent received a reward of 6 thousand US dollars.
On October 27, the detainee was informed of suspicion of unauthorized dissemination of data about the Defense Forces of Ukraine during martial law. He has already been placed in custody without bail.
The defendant faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
As a reminder, a Russian agent was detained in the Donetsk region, who was spying on the homes of Ukrainian soldiers participating in combat operations on the front line.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Minister of Defense, exposed Russian intelligence agents who were spying on one of the enterprises of the defense-industrial complex in the Mykolaiv region.
