Estates in Sochi and a fictitious name: how Yanukovych lives in Russia after fleeing Ukraine
Journalists have published an investigation into the life of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and his family after their flight to Russia. According to their information, Yanukovych is likely living in Sochi under an assumed name, and his relatives own significant assets.
This is reported by Toronto Television .
According to the investigation, after fleeing Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych is likely living in an estate in Sochi with his common-law wife Lyubov Polezhai, who uses the surname Sadikova in Russia. Journalists also claim that the ex-president may use the name “Oleg Leonov” for travel.
The journalists found that former employees of the State Security Department of Ukraine, who moved to Russia after 2014 and began working for the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, are likely providing security for Yanukovych and his family. They also traced the guards’ joint flights with Lyubov Sadykova, her daughter Maria, and sister Nadia Marentseva.
The investigation notes that the photos published by Lyubov Sadykova on social networks coincide with the photos of the estate in the Blagodat complex in Sochi. According to journalists, the estate covers about 3 hectares, and nearby Sadykova also has a plot of land with an abandoned boarding house.

According to journalists, from 2015 to 2025, Sadikova officially worked as a manager in one of the Russian agricultural complexes with a salary of about 50 thousand rubles per month. At the same time, she later became the owner of 337 hectares of agricultural land, which she leased to the same company. Over four years, she allegedly received more than 50 million rubles from rent and almost 14 million rubles from the sale of real estate.
Journalists also report that in total, Lyubov Sadikova owns more than 370 hectares of land, more than 2,400 square meters of real estate, five apartments, five houses and four non-residential premises. In 2024, she registered the company “Schedrodar” in Sochi, which, according to financial statements, ended 2025 with a loss of about 2 million rubles.
The investigation notes that the name “Oleg Mykolayovych Leonov,” which Yanukovych is allegedly using, attracted the attention of journalists due to the coincidence of the date of birth – July 9, 1950 – with the date of birth of the ex-president, as well as the coincidence of the surname with his mother’s maiden name.
In addition, journalists report that the ex-president’s eldest son, Oleksandr Yanukovych, lives in Russia with his family under the surname Sokolova. According to them, until May 2026, he had access to the facial recognition and tracking system used by Russian special services, and in 2022-2023 he flew between Moscow and Sochi together with the leadership of the 5th FSB service.
Journalists also claim that Oleksandr Yanukovych’s wife Olena became the owner of more than 27 thousand square meters of real estate, and her deposits in 2024 contained about 3.5 million dollars. According to their data, Olena Yanukovych and her sons Viktor and Oleksandr have citizenship of the United Arab Emirates, and in 2024 the accounts of the grandson of ex-president Viktor had almost 5 million dollars.
