Estonia will allocate 340 thousand euros to prepare Ukraine for winter

Estonia will provide 340,000 euros in humanitarian aid to prepare frontline regions of Ukraine for winter. The funds will be received by Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhia regions.

This is reported by ERR with reference to the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In particular, Estonia has allocated 160,000 euros for the equipment and renovation of 13 centers for internally displaced persons. They will be equipped with modern heating equipment and work will be carried out to improve energy efficiency.

It is expected that this will provide heat for about 860 people this winter.

Another 160,000 euros will be allocated to help Ukrainian families. The funds will help provide households with heat and cover the costs of keeping livestock.

The remaining funding will be used to purchase equipment for two mobile emergency and heating points of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said that due to Russian attacks, Ukrainians may face another difficult winter and disruptions in electricity and heating supplies.

According to him, Russia is trying to use attacks on infrastructure, cold and darkness to break the resistance of Ukrainians. Tsahkna stressed that Estonia will continue to support Ukraine.
