Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna believes that the downing of Ukrainian drones on the territory of NATO countries is the price worth paying for the destruction of Russian oil refineries and military bases.

This is reported by the Financial Times.

He emphasized that Estonia is not happy about the downing of drones, but cannot prohibit Kyiv from striking Russian territory.

“This hits Putin’s vital artery,” the minister said.

It is known that this year Ukraine is focusing on long-range strikes on Russia. In addition, Ukrainian drones have already fallen on the territory of Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, and Finland.

Tsakhkna stressed that Russia’s claims that the Baltic countries were involved in these strikes and allegedly allowed Ukraine to use their airspace are “ridiculous.”

“We know that the tone around Putin has changed over the last two and a half months… He is not as optimistic anymore. The main reason is economic, because of these deep blows,” he added.

According to the minister, Moscow is concerned about these attacks. At the same time, in his opinion, it is still too early to talk about Putin’s readiness for negotiations.

Tsakhkna also believes that Europe’s attempts to engage with Russia are misguided.

“Putin has already been trying to bring Europe into the negotiations for the last month. This is to buy time. To use Europe as an opportunity to buy time. To divide us,” he said.

Earlier, Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna said that Russia is sending Ukrainian drones into the airspace of the Baltic states . According to him, Moscow is using such incidents to weaken support for Ukraine from its allies.
