On October 7, ambassadors from European Union countries agreed on new sanctions against Russia.

This was reported by Radio Free Europe’s editor for Europe, Rikard Jozwiak.

According to him, EU ambassadors gave the green light to sanctions against 743 individuals and 826 organizations in the Russian military industry.

Separate restrictions will be imposed on 77 people who were “elected” to the State Duma of the Russian Federation from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

Furthermore, EU ambassadors agreed to extend sanctions due to Russia’s use of chemical weapons on the frontline. This list includes 31 individuals and six organizations.

Now the new sanctions decisions must undergo further procedures to officially enter into force.

Earlier, Kallas announced sanctions through Russian “elections” in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
