EU continues financial support to Ukraine: sixth tranche approved
Ukraine will soon receive about 2.3 billion euros from the European Union after the EU Council approved the decision to allocate the sixth tranche under the Ukraine Facility mechanism.
This was reported by the press service of the Council of the EU.
The EU noted that this amount was the result of Ukraine’s successful implementation of eight steps required for the sixth tranche, as well as one unfulfilled step from the fourth tranche. The financing is aimed at supporting Ukraine’s macro-financial stability and ensuring the functioning of public administration.
Disbursements under the Ukraine Facility are tied to the implementation of Ukraine’s reform plan, which includes a recovery, reconstruction, modernization strategy and a reform implementation schedule aligned with Ukraine’s EU accession goals.
In total, at this stage, Ukraine has completed 63 of the 68 necessary steps.
The sixth tranche follows the previous, fifth payment, which the EU made on November 5, 2025. The EU Council emphasized that such dynamics show Ukraine’s speed and commitment to implementing the reforms necessary for rapprochement with the European Union.
As previously reported,European Council President Antonio Costa said that the European Union has almost agreed on a decision on financing Ukraine for 2026-2027 and may adopt it as early as December 18.
As a reminder, the Netherlands decided to allocate another 700 million euros to Ukraine for military support at the beginning of 2026.
