The European Union has extended economic sanctions against Russia for another year. They will be in effect until at least July 31, 2027.

This was reported by the press service of the Council of the EU.

This decision was agreed upon by the leaders of the European Union countries during the summit on June 18-19. Brussels emphasized that the sanctions pressure on Russia will remain as long as it continues the war against Ukraine.

These are restrictions that affect the financial sector, trade, energy, and technology supply.

In particular, the EU will continue to ban imports of Russian oil, restrict the work of certain Russian banks and crypto services, and maintain a ban on the broadcasting of a number of Kremlin propaganda media outlets.

In addition, the European Union stated that it will continue to combat attempts to circumvent sanctions and is ready to introduce new restrictions if Russia continues to violate international law.

As reported, the European Union has approved another package of sanctions against Russia. The new restrictions target enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex, companies associated with the shadow fleet, the oil business, and Kremlin propagandists.
