EU imposes sanctions against 27 individuals and organizations for deporting children from Ukraine

The European Union has imposed sanctions against 10 more people and 17 organizations it considers involved in the deportation, forced displacement, and Russification of Ukrainian children.

This was reported by a correspondent of “Suspilny” with reference to a statement by the EU Council.

The sanctions targeted individuals and institutions that, according to the European Union, participated in the deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia and from temporarily occupied territories. The EU also stated their involvement in the Russification of children, the imposition of Russian ideology, and military training.

The sanctions list, in particular, included the Moscow City Tourism Committee, Russian companies in the field of children’s recreation and tourism, as well as children’s camps and sports centers.

The restrictions also affected the state-run international children’s camp “Sondowon” in North Korea. According to the EU, Ukrainian children from the occupied territories were transported there and pro-Russian narratives were spread among them.

The list also includes the head of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov. The European Union said he was involved in the deportation of Ukrainian children to camps in the Russian region.

Sanctions were also imposed against representatives of occupation administrations, heads of children’s camps, schools, and other institutions involved in the Russification and militarization of Ukrainian children.
