The European Union is considering several options for Ukraine’s integration into the bloc, which could form part of a future peace agreement.

Bloomberg reports this.

According to the publication’s sources, the EU is discussing a model for Ukraine’s gradual accession that would provide Kyiv with preliminary protection during the transition to full membership, as well as immediate access to certain rights of member states.

Among the possible options, they are also considering continuing the current path of integration or introducing a transition period with Ukraine’s gradual entry into the European Union.

Sources note that the EU plans to provide Ukraine with a clear timetable of steps for advancing the official accession process.

A European Commission representative confirmed that Ukraine’s membership is already part of the broader discussions on a future peace agreement: “Kyiv’s potential accession to the EU is being discussed as part of the peace agreement.”

Bloomberg also reminds us that Ukraine’s draft 20-point peace plan calls for joining the European Union in 2027. Until then, Kyiv may receive certain benefits that are usually enjoyed by the bloc’s member states.
