EU may allocate another 1 billion euros to Ukraine for military aid – Kallas

The European Union may allocate another 1 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine. Kaia Kallas is currently discussing this with EU countries.

This was stated by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaia Kallas, during a speech in the European Parliament.

According to her, additional money for Ukraine could be taken from the European Peace Fund. Kallas noted that she is currently working with EU countries to agree on the allocation of funds.

Since the start of the full-scale war, the EU and its member states have already provided Ukraine with over €78 billion in military aid. Overall, European support to Ukraine has exceeded €220 billion.

Kallas also recalled the EU loan for Ukraine of 90 billion euros, designed for two years. Of this amount, 60 billion euros are planned to be allocated for military needs.

So far, Ukraine has already received 8.35 billion euros, including funds for missiles for Patriot systems.
