EU MP ready to bail out ex-head of Ukrenergo, who ensured disconnection of Ukrainian power grid from Russia

Mykola Velychkovych, a member of parliament from the European Solidarity faction, announced that he is ready to take on the bail of the former head of Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytsky.

“The trial of the former head of Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytsky, is now set to begin. This is the one who disconnected the Ukrainian energy system from the Russian one and connected it to the European energy grid at the very beginning of the full-scale invasion in 2022. They are trying to make him a scapegoat, the ultimate one for what is currently happening in the country’s energy system, even despite his dismissal back in 2024!” Velychkovych wrote on Facebook.

“As always, the State Bureau of Investigation will fulfill the political order of the authorities. Double standards – the authorities absolve their own people from responsibility, and denigrate everyone else and blame them for their miscalculations,” the MP notes.

“Colleagues from the Holos faction also came to support Volodymyr, journalists from many channels were present. He filed a personal petition for bail. In the photo, this is what “gratitude” looks like for disconnection from the Russian energy grid!” – noted Velychkovych.

As a reminder, former executive director of NPC Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytskyi has become a subject of an investigation conducted by the State Bureau of Investigation . Investigators are investigating his involvement in abuse of office and misappropriation of state company funds.

By the way, on October 29, the Pechersk Court of Kyiv began considering the case on the election of a preventive measure for the former head of Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi.
