The European Union plans to remove Russian businessman Mikhail Gutseriev and Belarusian businessman Viktor Shevtsov from its sanctions list against Belarus. They achieved this decision after several cases in the EU court.
This was reported by Radio Liberty journalist Rikard Jozwiak.
According to him, EU ambassadors are expected to make a decision on Wednesday, October 7.
Yozvyak explained that Gutseriev and Shevtsov will be removed from the sanctions list against Belarus after they won several cases in the European Union court.
At the same time, Gutseriev will not be completely exempt from EU sanctions. He was recently added to another sanctions list – against Russia for actions that undermine the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
As a reminder, ambassadors from all 27 EU countries agreed to lift sanctions on Russian businessmen Alisher Usmanov and Mikhail Fridman . However, there is no final decision yet – it can still be blocked by any EU country.
