EU to transfer millions of shells to Ukraine: date announced

The head of European diplomacy, Kaia Kallas, said that the European Union plans to transfer two million artillery shells to Ukraine by October.

She said this on Tuesday during a speech in the European Parliament.

According to her, member states have already fulfilled 80% of their commitments under the promised plan. They intend to complete the deliveries in the coming weeks.

Kallas emphasized that this is critically necessary for the defense of Ukraine, the protection of civilians, and the deterrence of Russian aggression.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, EU countries have already provided Ukraine with almost 170 billion euros in financial support.

Recall thatby the end of 2025, Ukraine may receive the latest mobile Skyranger anti-aircraft systems, which will become an important reinforcing link in the defense of Ukrainian skies.

As reported, Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger, during the presentation of the company’s six-month report, stated that the currentpace of construction of the ammunition plant in Ukraine is not progressing as quickly as we would like.
