Tomorrow, March 18, experts from European Union countries will inspect the section of the Druzhba oil pipeline damaged after the Russian attack.

This was reported by “Suspilne” with reference to sources.

A group of experts, consisting of engineers, has already arrived in Kyiv. As the publication notes, the European Union Delegation to Ukraine is handling logistics.

Earlier, an EU official noted that experts from Hungary and Slovakia would not participate in the Druzhba review.

“In my opinion, it makes sense to involve some independent experts to carry out this visit, and that is positive,” he said.

European officials stressed that the pipeline needed to be inspected “as soon as possible” in order to do so before March 19, when EU leaders will meet to discuss the release of a billion-euro loan for Ukraine.

Ukraine recently agreed to the European Union’s offer of financial and technical assistance for the restoration of the Druzhba oil pipeline.

Previously, some European countries and the European Commission asked Ukraine to provide access to the damaged section of the oil pipeline, but were allegedly refused.

As is known, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced a possible interruption of electricity supplies to Ukraine if oil transit through the Druzhba oil pipeline is not resumed .
