European Solidarity has opened a legal aid hotline for IDPs.
European Solidarity has opened a hotline for internally displaced persons.
Faction co-chairman Artur Gerasimov announced this at a briefing.
He recalled that the EU is constantly addressing the issues of IDPs, who suffer from destroyed housing and a lack of financial and social support from the state.
“From our perspective, caring for IDPs today, in addition to supporting our military and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, is one of the most important tasks that every political party, every faction, must set for itself. Because IDPs, among the civilian population, have suffered the most,” Gerasimov notes.

According to him, some displaced families have lost everything two or three times. “That’s why, while in opposition, we’ve always done concrete things that, unfortunately, the government doesn’t. For example, it was thanks to European Solidarity and Nina Petrovna Yuzhanina that legislative changes were passed that allowed businesses located in mandatory evacuation zones to be exempt from a significant portion of their taxes,” the deputy recalled.
“It was thanks to the European Solidarity initiative and our vote that a bill was passed exempting businesses and farmers whose crops, equipment, or enterprises were destroyed in occupied territories or areas where active military action is underway from the yoke of loans until the end of martial law. It was thanks to the European Solidarity initiative, unanimously supported by both the committee and parliament, that Bill 11161 was passed on real compensation for destroyed housing in occupied territories and areas where active military action is underway . Unfortunately, Zelenskyy still hasn’t signed it,” states Artur Gerasimov.
“Also, thanks to the European Solidarity initiative, Bill 14219 was registered, banning the eviction of IDPs from temporary residences, as this problem does exist. It is currently under consideration by the relevant committee,” the faction co-chairman said.
“Today we’re taking the next step. We want all the rights that IDPs currently enjoy to be protected and exercised. That’s why we’re opening this hotline—an email address and phone number where you can contact us and receive the legal assistance you need,” Gerasimov said.

Arkady Petrosyan, Chairman of the Association of Young IDPs and social activist, added that lawyers will be providing consultations to internally displaced persons during working hours: “On behalf of our Association and the thousands of displaced persons, I would like to thank the European Solidarity faction in parliament, the territorial organizations, and local deputies for their systematic support. This platform demonstrates the importance of standing together in such difficult times.”
