“European Solidarity”: Negotiations cannot be trusted to people involved in corruption
The European Solidarity faction appealed to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy with a demand to stop closed and opaque agreements on the so-called “peace agreements” and start an honest and open dialogue with society and parliament.
This is stated in the faction’s official statement.
The EU emphasizes: Ukrainians cannot be the last to learn about the progress of negotiations, which directly concern the future of the state. The faction demands a meeting between Zelensky and the leaders of all parliamentary forces so that the President personally explains what directives and “red lines” he gave to the negotiating team.
“European Solidarity” sharply criticizes the composition of the current negotiating group. Instead of professional diplomats, people who are involved in corruption scandals were included. As the deputies note, the inclusion of Andriy Yermak and Rustem Umerov looks like an attempt by Zelensky to save his closest circle from suspicions and investigative actions, and not a decision in the interests of the state. It is because of this unprofessional choice, the faction claims, that the fate of Ukraine was discussed without Ukraine – under the dictation of the Russian Ushakovs and Dmitrievs, who promoted the surrender plan.
The “EU” demands the immediate removal of all compromised individuals from the negotiations and the involvement of professional diplomats capable of protecting state interests, not their own positions.
The faction also recalled that last week it registered an appeal to the President and the Government demanding the immediate resignation of the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council and the Head of the President’s Office – figures involved in high-profile scandals.
Separately, the “EU” demands the release of all those involved in the corruption schemes uncovered by NABU – from the leadership of the financial monitoring to members of supervisory boards. The faction emphasizes: without cleansing the government and parliament, the country will not be able to overcome the political crisis.
European Solidarity also drew attention to the draft budget for 2026, which, according to them, is full of corruption “whims” – from spending on dubious media projects to new schemes under the guise of cashbacks. The faction states that the budget will not pass in this form and demands the redistribution of funds to the army and social protection.
As a result, the “EU” calls on the parliament to restore subjectivity, achieve the resignation of the “cabmindich” and form a government of national salvation. The faction also appealed to “Batkivshchyna” and the pro-Ukrainian part of “Servant of the People” with a request to support the collection of signatures for the resignation of the government and not to deepen the crisis.
It was previously reported that former US Ambassador to the OSCE Jim Gilmore commented on the corruption scandal in the Ukrainian energy sector and emphasized that the US and Europe want Ukraine to expose violations and punish the guilty.
