The European Solidarity Party proposes to name one of the streets in Kyiv after Hero of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy. The faction in the Kyiv City Council has already prepared the necessary draft decision, which concerns the passage between Mariinsky Park and house No. 9 on Mykhailo Hrushevsky Street.

This was reported by the press service of “European Solidarity”.

The “EU” explains that this place is symbolic, as it is connected with the life and activities of Parubiy: Mariinsky Park and the Verkhovna Rada became important points of the Revolution of Dignity and the Orange Revolution, in which he took an active part. The party emphasizes that Parubiy worked for many years to strengthen Ukrainian statehood and was one of the key figures of the national movement.

The statement also mentioned that his murder on August 30 was a blow to Ukrainian identity. The EU calls on the Kyiv City Council to support the initiative to immortalize Parubiy’s name on the map of the capital.

As previously reported, the court extended the detention of a 52-year-old resident of Lviv, who is accused of involvement in the murder of MP and former Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy.

As a reminder, Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded People’s Deputy and former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy the title of Hero of Ukraine.
