“Even deep rear will not save”: SBU confirms attack on Russian military equipment factory

On the morning of July 1, an explosion occurred at the Kupol enterprise in Izhevsk, Russia, which manufactures anti-aircraft missile systems and drones for the Russian army. According to sources, this was the result of an attack by long-range drones of the Security Service of Ukraine.

As Ukrainian media reports, citing their own sources, the strike targeted the production and warehouse facilities of the plant, located in Udmurtia, more than 1,300 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. After two precise hits, a fire broke out on the territory of the enterprise.

The Kupol plant specializes in the production of Tor and Osa air defense systems, and also develops Harpy strike drones. The enterprise is under international sanctions for its participation in the Russian military-industrial complex.

“The SBU continues to disable key facilities of the Russian military industry with surgical precision. Such strikes weaken the enemy’s ability to take offensive action, destroy production chains, and demonstrate that even in the depths of the Russian Federation there are no safe spots for military infrastructure,” the SBU says.

As a reminder, on Tuesday, July 1, explosions were heard in Izhevsk, Russia, at the Kupol electromechanical plant, which is a key manufacturer of Tor anti-aircraft missile systems and Harpy-A1 strike drones for the Russian military.

As reported, on the night of Tuesday, July 1, powerful explosions rocked the Saratov region of Russia . Saratov and Engels were hit.
