President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed Law No. 12353, which allows police to evacuate children without parental consent from areas of active hostilities. The document defines the procedure for making decisions on mandatory evacuation.
This is reported by the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine explained that the decision to declare a mandatory evacuation is made by military administrations at the written request of the military command and in agreement with the Coordination Headquarters for Evacuation Measures.
It is noted that evacuation can be general or partial. Partial evacuation concerns certain categories of the population who cannot leave dangerous areas on their own due to age or health condition.
These categories include:
- children
- people with disabilities
- elderly people
It is worth adding that the law came into force after being signed by the president.
We would like to remind you that the Defense Council of the Kharkiv Region, at its meeting on Friday, January 30, adopted a decision on the forced evacuation of families with children from the villages of Bereznyki, Vyshneve, Hontarivka, Metalivka, Radkove, Zarichne and Shyroke (Starosaltivska community),
It was previously reported that the Zaporizhia region introduced mandatory evacuation of children with their parents or legal representatives from five settlements.
