The Head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk, shared new details of preparations for the special operation “Web”.

He said this during a conversation with journalists, Suspilne reports .

Work on “Web” began in November 2023, during the period of massive shelling of Ukraine by the Russian Federation. Thus, in total, the preparation took 1 year, 6 months, and 9 days.

Malyuk noted that in total, Ukraine deployed 117 UAVs to defeat Russian aircraft.

“The warhead in the body of the drone itself consists of two parts of 800 and 800 g, in the complex – it is 1.6 kg – a special cumulative high-explosive charge. What does this mean? That it burns the body of the aircraft and explodes inside, which causes maximum damage to the target,” he informed.

According to him, the circle of people familiar with the full plans for the special operation was limited. In particular, President Volodymyr Zelensky and one SBU employee knew, others – in a narrow profile. Even those who were involved in the manufacture and transportation of drones and houses were not aware of their purpose.

“I gathered the best drone operators. They came to the combat control point at five in the morning, their phones were taken away. And the work began: everyone was given a target, a specific aircraft was “allocated”. Each had a model of the terrain, which took into account the reliefs, the location of the houses, the route, how to get there. I had my own models, you saw the photo,” the head of the SBU shared.

He assured that Ukrainian drones primarily struck missile mounting points and fuel tanks.

“They hit the side of the plane where the missile was located. They hit the avionics, the equipment that the enemy does not have in reserve. This is a very accurate and specially designed ammunition. Separate elements for communication were used, which are groups of goods subject to sanctions on the territory of the Russian Federation,” Malyuk added.

In addition, he noted that the special operation involved carefully planned logistics, which included transporting “means behind enemy lines.” For this, Russian customs officers had to be bribed.

“These houses were traveling separately. And when they were supposed to enter the territory of Russia, it was a group of goods subject to sanctions: EcoFlow, solar panels. A whole story began, we were even forced to bribe Russian customs officers separately,” said Malyuk.

As he explained, in order for the drones to start fully charged, specialists installed solar panels and EcoFlow, which constantly powered the drones.

As a reminder, the Security Service of Ukraine conducted a unique large-scale operation to destroy enemy bomber aircraft deep in the Russian Federation.

As reported, the SBU managed to hit four military airfields and destroy 41 enemy strategic bombers. Operation “Web”, which was prepared for over a year and a half under the leadership of Vasyl Malyuk, became the largest strike on the Russian aviation fleet since the beginning of the full-scale war.

In addition, engineers of the Security Service of Ukraine developed and manufactured unique drones for conducting the special operation “Web”.

By the way, the Security Service of Ukraine has released a video of the special operation “Web”. It records the entire path of one of the FPV drones – from the moment it took off from the roof of a modular house to the destruction of the bomber.
