US President Donald Trump said he does not believe the version of Ukraine’s strike on Vladimir Putin’s residence. According to him, American intelligence did not confirm the Kremlin’s claims after verifying the information.

This is reported by Reuters .

Trump noted that the version of the attack on the residence of the Russian dictator, which has been spreading since late December, has not been confirmed.

“I don’t believe that strike happened. There’s something that happened pretty close, but it had nothing to do with it,” Donald Trump said.

Journalists asked the US president whether his attitude towards this story had changed after he had previously sharply criticized Volodymyr Zelenskyy over the alleged attack.

“Nobody knew it at the time. That’s when I first heard about it. He said his home had been attacked. As of now, we don’t believe that it actually happened, after we’ve been able to verify everything. We just hope that Russia and Ukraine can sort it out,” said Donald Trump.

By the way, the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine revealed the goals of Russia, which spread a fake about an attack on the residence of President Vladimir Putin . According to analysts, the Kremlin was trying to delay the negotiations and quarrel the United States with Ukraine.

The day before, the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine announced that the Kremlin was preparing a large-scale provocation with significant human casualties . The aim of such actions could be to disrupt peace talks mediated by the US and further escalate the war.

Recall that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that Ukrainian drones allegedly attacked the residence of Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin in the Novgorod region on the night of December 29 .
