People’s Deputy Anna Skorokhod registered a bill in the Verkhovna Rada on amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine, which propose to consolidate the neutral status of the state and remove the mention of the course for joining NATO.
This was reported by political consultant and former MP Viktor Ukolov.
Skorokhod, who was elected to parliament in district No. 93 in the Kyiv region, proposes defining Ukraine’s neutral status as a guarantee that the state will not join any military alliance and confirming the absence of a desire for aggression against other countries.
At the same time, the Constitution plans to retain the provision on Ukraine’s course towards joining the European Union, removing the mention of Euro-Atlantic integration.
According to Ukolov, the bill is open for signing by people’s deputies in the “Rada” system until October 20.
The political consultant also said that he wants to hear President Volodymyr Zelensky’s comments on this initiative and see which of the deputies will sign the document.
