Explosion in a residential building in Khmelnytskyi: bodies of the deceased found under the rubble

In Khmelnytskyi, on October 28, an explosion occurred in a residential building. The blast wave destroyed part of the high-rise building. During the night, during a rescue operation, the bodies of two people were pulled from under the rubble.

This was reported by the head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Tyurin.

“At night, we received a message that another person may be under the rubble. Unfortunately, the information was confirmed – the dead have been found,” Tyurin noted.

According to him, as a result of the explosion in a house on Ternopilska Street, rescuers discovered:

at 02:24 — the body of a woman born in 1973;

at 05:12 — the body of a man born in 1983.

The deceased were sent for a forensic medical examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Additional units were involved in the elimination of the consequences of the incident, including the GMRC mountain rescuers and the special DELTA unit.

“Rescue operations continue around the clock. All services are working in a coordinated manner, helping people and clearing the rubble,” the head of the OVA added.

As reported by “Suspilne”, as of 7:00 a.m. search and rescue operations were completed. The causes of the explosion are currently being investigated.

Let us remind you that on October 28, at around 3:00 PM, a powerful explosion was heard on Ternopilska Street in Khmelnytskyi.

As previously reported, five people, including one child, were injured in the explosion.
