Explosion near the shopping center in Lviv region: law enforcement officers detained two suspects in the terrorist attack

The SBU and the National Police detained two residents of the Lviv region, who are suspected of committing a terrorist attack near the administrative building of the Stryi District CCC on September 17. A serviceman was seriously injured as a result of the detonation of an improvised explosive device.

This was reported by the press service of the SBU.

According to the investigation, two men drove up to the CCC building in their own car. One of them threw an improvised explosive device into the parking lot near the military registration and enlistment office, after which they left the scene.

Later, during the inspection of the explosives by a serviceman of the CCC, it detonated. The serviceman was seriously injured. The detainees were a 48-year-old and a 41-year-old resident of the Mykolaiv district of the Lviv region.

During a search of the residence of one of the suspects, law enforcement officers discovered two more improvised explosive devices. They were seized and sent for examination.

SBU investigators informed the detainees of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – committing a terrorist act in advance of a conspiracy by a group of persons. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the crime, including the possible involvement of the suspects in cooperation with Russian special services.

Recall that in Mykolaiv, Lviv region, an explosion occurred near the building of the Stryi district CCC and SP . A 55-year-old serviceman was injured, and law enforcement officers detained two men who are being investigated for involvement in the incident.
