On the night of January 21, a series of drone and missile attacks were recorded in Russia, hitting fuel and energy infrastructure facilities in several regions at once.

In particular, in the Krasnodar Territory, an incident was reported at the Afipsky oil refinery. According to the regional operations center and Russian media, fragments of a drone fell on the territory of the enterprise, which caused a fire. The fire was quickly extinguished, no injuries or critical damage were reported. Emergency and specialized services worked at the site.

The previous evening, January 20, explosions were also heard in the Belgorod region. Russian Telegram channels announced a missile strike on a thermal power plant, after which a large-scale fire broke out. Later, the governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, confirmed the attack on energy complex facilities, noting that individual enterprises and equipment were damaged. At the same time, he emphasized that no serious disruptions in the operation of life support systems were recorded.

Another wave of explosions has swept through the city of Orel. According to eyewitnesses, more than ten explosions were heard in different areas at around 9:30 p.m. Videos have appeared on social media, allegedly showing a drone attack on a local thermal power plant, which led to a partial blackout in the city.

The information about the damage was also confirmed by the governor of the Oryol region, Andriy Klychkov. According to him, the fuel and energy infrastructure of the region was hit, as a result of which there were interruptions in the electricity and water supply in the Northern and Railway districts of Oryol. Emergency services are working to restore the supply of resources and eliminate the consequences of the attack.

According to official statements by the Russian authorities, the extent of the damage is traditionally assessed as minor, but the series of strikes demonstrated the vulnerability of key energy facilities in several regions of the country at once.

As a reminder, on the night of January 2, drones struck the Samara region of the Russian Federation . Two oil refineries were probably hit.
