Explosions and large-scale fires: drones hit the Wildberries refinery and warehouse in Ryazan

A series of explosions were heard in Ryazan, Russia, on the morning of Wednesday, July 29, during a massive drone attack. The strikes caused major fires at at least two facilities: an oil refinery and a Wildberries sorting complex.

This is reported by Russian Telegram channels, OSINT communities, as well as local authorities.

According to Russian public media, an air raid alert was issued in Ryazan at around 04:30. Within minutes, local residents began posting videos of drone flights, explosions, and thick smoke over the city.

OSINT analysts later reported that the Wildberries sorting complex and a local oil refinery were hit. It has not yet been officially confirmed which refinery was attacked.

At the same time, the ASTRA Telegram channel reported that the fire broke out at the Wildberries warehouse, located in the Ryazansky industrial park.

Shortly after the attack, Wildberries confirmed the temporary shutdown of the facility.

“Access to the Ryazan: Tyushevskaya sorting complex is temporarily restricted. Please do not come to the warehouse yet. We will inform you further when work will be resumed,” the company said.

Ryazan Region Governor Pavel Malkov also confirmed the fires in the city’s industrial areas. At the same time, he traditionally stated that the fires were allegedly caused by “falling debris” from downed drones.

There is currently no official information on the extent of damage or possible casualties. Russian authorities are continuing to assess the consequences of the attack.

As reported the day before, the Ukrainian Defense Forces launched a new series of long-range strikes on Russian military infrastructure. A strategic plant in the Russian Udmurtia, fuel and logistics warehouses in the occupied Crimea, as well as a drone storage base in Luhansk Oblast were hit. In addition, Russian media reported a fire at a logistics center in the Moscow region after a drone attack.
