Explosions at Russian enterprises: drones attacked Sterlitamak
On Wednesday, April 15, powerful explosions rocked Bashkortostan, Russia. Drones attacked Russian petrochemical plants.
This was reported by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Andriy Kovalenko.
The city of Sterlitamak, which is one of the key centers of the Russian chemical industry, was hit.
According to the head of the Central Production Area, the city has enterprises that manufacture components for aviation fuel, lubricants, as well as materials for the production of ammunition.
In particular, we are talking about the Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant, which produces substances used in military equipment.
“The Sintez-Kauchuk JSC plant was probably hit. This is one of the key elements of the petrochemical cluster of Bashkortostan, associated with large structures such as Bashneft,” writes Exilenova+.
The Telegram channel later added that there were several injuries, all in different parts of the plant.
Local authorities said that air defenses allegedly shot down some of the drones.
“The debris fell on the territory of one of the enterprises. All services are working on the spot, extinguishing the fire,” said the head of the region, Radiy Khabirov.
Information about the extent of the damage is currently being clarified.
As reported, on the night of Thursday, April 2, drones attacked Ufa in Bashkortostan . The industrial zone of the city — probably the areas of oil refineries — was hit.
