Explosions heard at ammunition depot in Azerbaijan: fire breaks out

On the night of September 2, an explosion occurred at an ammunition depot near the village of Nizami in the Goranboy district of Azerbaijan. This was followed by a fire, which was accompanied by a second detonation.
This was reported by the Azerbaijani service of Radio Liberty, citing a joint statement from the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Ministry of Emergencies of the country.
According to preliminary data, no one was killed or injured in the incident. The cause of the explosion is currently being determined.
The three agencies said the situation is under control. Measures are being taken on site to prevent the fire from spreading further. Residents of nearby settlements were evacuated due to the fire.
In particular, local media released footage from the scene showing a fire and repeated explosions.
