Several powerful explosions were heard in Cheboksary, Chuvashia, on Wednesday morning, February 18. Local residents reported a drone attack and smoke in the city’s industrial zone.

This is reported by Russian media.

The VNDIR-Progress enterprise, which produces components for missiles, drones, and guided bombs for the Russian army, could have been hit. At the same time, eyewitnesses specify that smoke rises approximately 800-900 meters from the factory, so there is currently no confirmation that it was hit specifically.

The Governor of Chuvashia, Oleg Nikolayev, confirmed the drone attack on Cheboksary, but did not report any possible damage to enterprises.

The incident partially blocked traffic in the city. According to local media, at least three drones were allegedly found lying on the streets.

As a reminder, on the night of Tuesday, February 17, drones attacked several regions of the Russian Federation. In particular, powerful explosions thundered in the Krasnodar Territory. As a result of the attack, a large-scale fire broke out at the Ilya oil refinery.

As reported, since the evening of Monday, February 16, a series of powerful explosions have been heard in the temporarily occupied Crimea. The Belbek airfield in Sevastopol came under attack by drones.
