Explosions in Darnytsia district classified as terrorist attack: National Guard member killed
In the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, two explosions that occurred on December 12 were classified as a terrorist act. Law enforcement officers opened proceedings under Part 3 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code – a terrorist act that resulted in the death of a person.
This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, the first explosion occurred while two National Guard soldiers were patrolling the area. One soldier was killed, the second was injured. A security guard at the site was also injured.
The second explosion occurred while police and paramedics were already at the scene. Two police officers were injured. It has been previously determined that improvised explosive devices were used in both cases.
Law enforcement officers are conducting investigative actions, seizing fragments of explosives and checking the area for other possible threats. They are also analyzing video surveillance footage and establishing the route of the individuals who may have planted the explosive devices.
As previously reported, on December 11, an explosion occurred in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, resulting in the death of one person.
