Explosions over Ufa and smoke near the refinery: Bashkortostan attacked by drones

Explosions were heard in Bashkortostan, Russia, on the night of September 23, and smoke was seen near the Ufa oil refinery. Residents of Ufa also reported Russian air defenses operating amid drone attacks.

According to the publication, local Telegram channels wrote about the downing of drones over Ufa. OSINT analyst ASTRA, having analyzed the eyewitness photo, established that the smoke was visible precisely in the area of the Ufa Oil Refinery. At the same time, it is not excluded that it could be related to the CHP.

This morning, Bashkortostan introduced a “dangerous flight” regime. Because of this, the Ufa airport temporarily restricted the arrival and departure of aircraft. The restrictions were later lifted, and the airport returned to normal operations.

Russian authorities have not officially reported the attack on the region.

At the same time, the Russian Defense Ministry stated that overnight, Russian air defense allegedly “intercepted and destroyed” 514 drones over 18 regions of Russia, occupied Crimea, as well as the Azov and Black Seas.

As reported the day before, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck two large oil refineries in Russia – Bashneft-UNPZ in Ufa and Kuibyshev Refinery in Samara . Fires were recorded on the territory of both enterprises.
