On the night of Thursday, July 24, a massive drone attack was recorded in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation. Powerful explosions were heard in Sochi and its Adler district, where an oil depot caught fire as a result of the strike. Information about the victims is currently being clarified.

This is reported by Russian Telegram channels and media.

According to eyewitnesses, it was one of the largest drone attacks on Sochi in history. Videos posted online show a large-scale fire and thick smoke rising over the city. The fire engulfed infrastructure near the Sochi airport, including an oil depot on Tavrichnaya Street.

Dmitry Plyshkin, head of the administration of the Sirius federal territory, confirmed the hit on one of the strategic facilities. According to him, there was a direct hit on an oil depot.

Due to the threat of the fire spreading, tourists were evacuated to underground shelters in a number of hotels near the scene of the incident. It is also reported that the operation of Sochi airport has been restricted – some flights have been temporarily canceled or redirected.

The damaged oil depot belongs to Rosneft and is an important logistics hub for fuel supply to the southern region of Russia. The consequences of the fire could affect not only regional fuel supplies, but also the state of the environment.

As of this morning, relevant services are continuing to eliminate the consequences of the night attack. The official cause of the explosions has not yet been announced.

Recall, on the night of Wednesday, July 23, the Russian Rostov region again came under attack from drones. According to local residents, a series of explosions were heard in several cities of the region, in particular in Novocherkassk and Taganrog . The attack caused fires and disruptions in the operation of critical infrastructure facilities.

As reported, on the night of Tuesday, July 22, a strike was carried out on the territory of the Russian Federation on a facility of strategic importance for the country’s defense-industrial sector. This is the Novokuibyshevsk petrochemical plant, located in the Samara region. This plant, according to Ukrainian sources, produces chemicals that are later used in the manufacture of explosives for the Russian army.
