Explosions rocked Cheboksary: drones attacked a defense plant

On the night of November 26, an attack by unknown drones was recorded in Cheboksary, Chuvash Republic of the Russian Federation. A local defense plant was likely attacked again.

According to SHOT, the first explosion occurred at around 02:40. Loud sounds were also heard by residents of the surrounding area of the city and the village of Lapsary, located approximately 10 kilometers from Cheboksary.

Local sources reported that the region was attacked by unknown drones. After that, a fire broke out in one of the areas, accompanied by thick smoke.

The first videos and photos of the attack on the infrastructure facility quickly appeared on social media. Users claim that it was a strike on the military enterprise “VNIIR”.

The head of the Chuvash Republic, Oleg Nikolayev, has already commented on the incident and acknowledged the fact of the attack. According to him, there are no victims, but the evacuation of local residents is underway. The official did not specify which facility was affected.

As a reminder, on the night of November 24-25, a large-scale drone attack took place in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation. Almost simultaneously , explosions erupted in several cities – Gelendzhik, Novorossiysk, Tuapse, Anapa, and Krasnodar . The most difficult situation was in Novorossiysk, where local residents heard alarm sirens and reports of an alleged chemical or radiation hazard for several hours.

As reported, a large series of explosions were heard in Taganrog, which local sources attribute to a Ukrainian drone attack . Some analytical sources suggest that the strike may have damaged an aircraft factory.
