Explosions rocked the Krasnodar Territory: an oil refinery caught fire

On the night of Tuesday, June 2, drones attacked the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation. The Ilya Oil Refinery was hit, where a large-scale fire broke out after the explosions.
Local residents reported multiple explosions and posted footage of the fire on social media. Videos that have gone viral show a thick column of black smoke rising above the plant.
The regional operations headquarters confirmed the drone attack on the facility.
“As a result of a UAV attack on the territory of the Ilya Oil Refinery, a fire broke out. There were no injuries,” said representatives of the Krasnodar Territory authorities.
The Il’sky Refinery is one of the key oil refining enterprises in the region. Its design capacity is about 6.6 million tons of oil per year.
This is not the first strike on the enterprise since the start of the full-scale war. According to open data, the plant has repeatedly been the target of drone attacks, with the previous similar incident recorded in February of this year.
As a reminder, a series of explosions were heard in Volgograd, Russia, on the night of Friday, May 29. Local residents reported a drone attack and a fire near an oil refinery .
As reported, on the night of May 31, 2026, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck the Saratovsky oil refinery , the Lazarevo linear production and dispatching station in the Kirov region, and other enemy facilities.
