Explosive in McDonald’s burger: suspect detained in Chernihiv

In Chernihiv, law enforcement officers detained a woman suspected of attempting to hand over a homemade explosive device disguised as a McDonald’s burger to servicemen. The incident occurred at one of the city’s checkpoints.

This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine.

According to law enforcement officials, the arrest was carried out by officers of the National Police in conjunction with the Security Service of Ukraine and the Prosecutor’s Office. According to the investigation, the woman was trying to hand over to the military a homemade explosive hidden in a burger.

Currently, SBU investigators, under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office, are conducting the necessary investigative actions. Law enforcement officers are deciding whether to notify the detainee of suspicion.

The National Police noted that details of the case will be made public later after the completion of primary procedural measures.

As reported, at one of the checkpoints on the way from Chernihiv to Kyiv, the military was handed food packages, one of which contained a disguised improvised explosive device.
