Ukraine is nearing the end of the latest martial law and mobilization period, which will remain in effect until May 4, 2026. Therefore, those liable for military service are advised to check the status of their deferments in advance.

This was reported by the Kyiv Regional TCC and SP.

Some citizens are automatically extending their deferments through the Reserve+ app—this particularly applies to parents with many children and people with disabilities. In some cases, the data has already been updated in advance, until August 2026.

However, if the information has not been updated automatically, it is necessary to contact the TCC and SP before the possible enrollment in the military unit lists.

Those eligible for a deferment include, but are not limited to, individuals with disabilities, those deemed unfit by the VLK, parents of three or more children, single parents, guardians, relatives of deceased military personnel, as well as reserved employees of strategic enterprises and civil servants.

There are separate benefits for teachers: deferments are available to full-time or dual-study students, doctoral students, interns, as well as lecturers, scientists, and teachers (provided they are officially employed at least at 0.75 of a full-time position).

Lawyers emphasize that an application can be filed at any time, but it is better to do so early to avoid legal risks.
