The Pentagon has signed a contract worth $235.5 million for maintenance of F-16 aircraft, including those transferred to Ukraine.
This was announced on January 29 by the US Department of Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).
The agreement provides for maintenance of F-16 fighter jets and engines, as well as support in logistics management for Ukraine.
“Sabena Aerospace Engineering of Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, Belgium, has been awarded a fixed-price, time-and-materials contract worth $235,449,716 to support the Systems Program Office’s Foreign Military Sales program for the F-16,” the post reads.
The work is expected to be completed by January 28, 2029.
As reported, Ukrainian F-16s appear to have received new weapons that allow them to effectively and relatively cheaply shoot down Russian kamikaze drones — from Shahed to Gerber.
