The Security Service of Ukraine, in cooperation with the National Police, detained hackers who developed a fake copy of the “Reserve+” application to make money from evaders.

This was reported by the press service of the SBU.

Cyber specialists of the SBU and the National Police conducted a large-scale special operation in Kyiv, Rivne, and Cherkasy.

Operatives exposed and detained a group of hackers who created a fake version of the “Reserve+” application.

It is known that the created application completely imitated the official version from the Ministry of Defense.

Access to the fake was paid and cost 1,200 hryvnias per month.

In the electronic office, conscripted men could independently change their credentials and apply for a deferment.

After the changes were made, men of draft age could demonstrate updated data during checks by the CCC and the National Police.

Investigators documented that over 4,000 users were registered on the app, trying to avoid mobilization.

During searches in three cities in Ukraine, investigators seized computer equipment, mobile phones, flash drives, bank cards, and SIM cards with evidence of a criminal scheme.

A fake app was also blocked.

In particular, the detainees are charged with Part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations during a special period) and Part 3 of Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, sale or use of forged documents, committed by a group of persons in a prior conspiracy).

The perpetrators face up to 8 years in prison.

The investigation is ongoing. All the circumstances of the case are currently being clarified.
