American actor and director Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle Reiner have been found dead in Los Angeles. Police are investigating the couple’s deaths as a possible homicide.

According to journalists, the bodies of Rob Reiner and his wife were discovered in their home on Sunday, December 14. A relative arrived at the residence and found the two people without signs of life, after which emergency services were called to the scene.
The Los Angeles Police Department said officers responded to the call at approximately 3:40 p.m. local time. Homicide detectives are on scene conducting an initial investigation.
“We are not looking for any suspects or anyone in any other status at this point,” said Los Angeles Police Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton.
He also noted that investigators are waiting to receive court permission to conduct a full inspection of the scene.
“We need to get a search warrant. After that, we will conduct a full investigation inside the house, on its grounds and in the surrounding area,” said Alan Hamilton.
Police are not officially releasing the names of the deceased, saying the county coroner will release final information. However, reporters have identified the deceased as Rob Reiner and his wife, Michelle.
A family spokesman confirmed the couple’s death and asked for privacy.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the tragic death of Michelle and Rob Reiner. We are devastated by this sudden loss and ask that our right to privacy be respected during this extremely difficult time,” a family representative said in a statement.
The circumstances and cause of the couple’s death have not been disclosed at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
